After a long rolly trip in a yacht from Newlyn we were stretching our legs and came across this place. They had a table in the courtyard for a walk in couple (complete with nesting swallows). The food and wine were very good and the service excellent. A much better end to the day than the wet, dark start.

To eat here was one of those things we have always wanted to do, and it did not disappoint. The service was superb the setting ( in the courtyard as we had our dog) was lovely with heaters put on for us to take the chill away and music to set the atmosphere. The food was every bit as tantalising as we thought it would be leaving a lovely zing on our pallets for ages . We will certainly remember this visit.

We had a very pleasant evening here. The food was actually exceptionally good. Although I didn't get the lobster, which I was really looking forward to, as it was out, I was very pleased with the alternative programme. Crab linguine as a starter, and sea bass as a main course. Really recommendable! The service was a pleasant mix of professional and casual. Prices more than reasonable. I would happily return! Marc from Germany

We visited this week in the half term with a baby, 6 and 13 year old. We all loved it. The food, setting and service were superb. We only wish Mr Stein could have joined us lol

Went today for lunch, and was very pleasantly surprised by how good this was. We had the Bao Buns for our lunch, we had the BBQ pork and the spicy chicken which was exceptionally good. As a side, we had Padron Peppers and a battered Fish with a coriander sauce (can't remember what this was called) which was absolutely lovely. Even the chips were so good, crispy, salty, and soft in the middle. Would definitely come back again in the future. The staff were also very knowledgeable about the menu. Only two complaints (and they are minor) is that the toilets are not very accessible for disabled or wheel chair users, but this is to do with the heritage of the building rather than "bad design". Also the menu, from the outside of the building, does not "invite you in". It looks a little bit boring, unless you already wanted to go in you probably wouldn't look at the menu and think "ooo, that looks inviting"
